Most people that attend college switch their major. It is ok not to know exactly what you want to study. Of all of my friends, I was the only one who knew what they wanted to study and stuck with it for all my years at school. Now I am the only one not working in my field of study (Japanese and Marketing)! I guess that is why I am back for a master's degree. That being said if you are looking at very unique areas of study that can only be found at specific places, you need to do some research before you go to school.

The main thing is to get the basic courses out of the way. After you get to school (sometime in the first 1 or 2 semesters) go and talk to some professors in the main areas you are interested in. The college you attend should also have a career center with loads of info on jobs and what areas of study go with what career opportunities.

Life has alot of unexpected twists and turns. I was expected to work at a large international company after I moved overseas. But, it seems my experience overseas is worthless where I live now. In the end everything will work out. Just go to school and study. You will be surprised what doors will open up for you with a little bit of determination and hard work.

I don't think you need to go to college to be a pet groomer. You could probably find a shop in your area that is looking for an assistant, and learn how on the job. This would help you decide if you really want to work with animals, and then decide on vet school. I'm sure vets make more than groomers.

Oh, you poor dear! Don't I remember what THAT'S like! GOD! It's like this HUGE decision that shapes your ENTIRE future, and it is constantly LOOMING over head like a dark and ominous SHADOW!! Everywhere you go - it's THERE! And it seems like EVERYBODY ELSE already KNOWS what THEY'RE going to do and are making plans....I remember worrying about what I was going to do, and ALL the stress!! And by my senior year, I was no closer to figuring it out, either! So, NO I did not just "know" what I wanted to go to college for...and, BELIEVE me, the NOT-knowing part was the MOST stressful part!! So see; you are not alone! I believe that the whole "finding out what you're going to do about your career in life" thing is a PROCESS ITSELF!! So, my dear, you can rest assured just knowing that the road ahead is A JOURNEY in itself...which will take you down many roads. And along the way, it's up to you to veer that course...so pay close attention to what YOU like, and LISTEN to yourself!! Cuz alot of people out there are gonna try to tell you what you should do--DON'T listen...THEY are NOT YOU!! Do what makes you happy, something perhaps you are passionate about, and enjoy. Use your special talents. People think that LIFE is what HAPPENS to you. I DON'T!!! I think that LIFE is HOW YOU RESPOND to what HAPPENS TO YOU... so it's all about ATTITUDE! Remember that! And relax, girl! I was JUST like YOU!!
