I pre-bought tickets today for Clerks 2 and I wanted to take my brother for his birthday but he's only 15 (he'll be 16 Sunday) but I'm not sure whether they'll let him in or not...

I'm 19...I'm just a little worried because the lady at the theater was like make sure the other person brings an id and I was like oh well my brother is 15 and she was like hmm they might not let him in...

I used to manage a theater. Chances are, they won't pay any attention to your brother. Minimum wage employees are difficult to motivate. Besides that, as you are an adult, and will be with him, they pretty much have to let you in.

Yeah, you should be fine as long as an adult is with him.

Regretfully some (many) theatres don't really check age when they sell tickets unless the person is drastically under age. Most of the time they just assume age and sell tickets.

Clerks 2 looks hilarious, I hope that the two of you like it.

Love as always,

Sebastian

You have a few options:

1) Say you are his mom (doubt they'll buy that)

2) Get your mom or dad to go with you and say it is OK

3) If they try to check his ID have him say he left it at home because he's so use to going to the movies he forgot that people younger than him aren't allowed in. Have him say he is 17 (that's the age for R rated movies)

Option 2 is probably the best one.

Bring his ID and yours. It will show that you are related, same last name and all. That makes it okay. You become his guardian. And don't be afraid to say "He's with me." If they see that you are in charge they will assume it is okay. One of the things that tells you yhat you are an adult is the confidence that you exude.

They will let him in. You already purchased the tickets and you are technically an adult, don't worry..

If you are over 17 then it doesn't matter how old your brother is.
