First, no, Bush is not going to destroy the United States. Short term or long term, his policies, while often misguided, will do nowhere near the destruction required to bring down an industrial superpower. Keep in mind that our economy is running strong - more jobs and expanding business - and that America is now aware of the external dangers it faces.
Second, global warming is not going to "get us." While the earth is undeniably heating up, no scientists today can claim that we will be melted away in the foreseeable future. Remember: climatologists can't even predict precise weather a week in advance. Furthermore, as the temperature rises, humans will always have the ultimate tool for adaptation -- the mind.
Bush and global warming are not going to destroy the U.S. Hilary Clinton, however, is a different story.

I have a theory that if we don't manage to destroy ourselves first then mother nature certainly will.
I think of Indonesia and the boxing day tsunami and the one that has just hit. There is so much bad in that country but it won't fight within itself and get rid of all the bad so this big wave comes along and devastates the country.

Neither's gonna "get us." May as well get out your checkbook and pay those bills. Life's gonna go on....and there'll be late fees if you don't pay on time.
