now I don't I have sound with a cd but not my dvd's what happened what can I do?

I have sound on everything but my dvd's, cd's no problem

try this...

go to start / control panels / system / hardware / device manager / sounds, video, and game controllers

check to see if you have a yellow flag, most likely your audio hardware... click that and disable it (up in the bars).

after, go back to control panels / add hardware

and let your wizard search and install your audio hardware automatically.

Possibly your digital audio cable has been disconnected from your DVD player. Normally it goes from the DVD player to the sound card directly.

check settings on dvd player program if you have multipal audio cards it may be set for the on that your not using

right click the speaker icon in the taskbar and make sure the master volume isn't turned off (the slider on the left)
