Before I became a Christian I used to worry about the ozone layer and the greenhouse effect and stuff like that. Then I learned about God and how He knows the future and how He designed the earth with self correcting systems so that it's not going to fail to support human life until He himself brings it to an end.
That doesn't mean that we are not called to be good stewards of the planet He has given us charge over. It just means that we don't have to break out in a sweat every time some new report comes out predicting that all of the algae in the ocean is going to die or the other dire predictions that send people running around like chicken little.

Maybe they figure if people get sick of hearing of it and broil in the hot summer heat, we have droughts, shortages of food and all, they will start doing something about it. All I know is that the world is not in a good place, we are abusing the environment something terrible, diseases like cancer are rampant which years ago was not a popular thing, there used to be NO aids, herpes, etc. Our environments and mingling with other civilizations has brought us many problems that we all have to deal with or we won't be here. It could be a big BANG and the earth explodes from the heat and pressure, esp with the ice cap melting!

Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system, not because it is closer to the sun but because it has a gaseous layer around it that traps in heat, much like a greenhouse. The causes are natural, but manmade pollutants could cause a similar effect. The Earth is the only home we have. It is God's gift to us. It behooves us to take care of it.

The greenhouse effect is what may have lead to the mass extinction in the Cretacious period. We have to worry about greenhouse gasses because it is entirely possible for the reign of man to end the same way.

I'm sick of hearing about it. Because the people who are so fanatical about it, and guilt out others, live the exact same lifestyle as everyone else, and contribute just as much. WE ALL KNOW GLOBAL WARMING IS A THREAT! Are we gonna do anything about it? Hell no. So just stfu Al Gore.

I'm sick of it. I'm also tired of hearing about HIV, cancer, Bush, diabetes, racism, immigration, mercury, gas prices, second hand smoke, SUVs, Iraq, Israel, North Korea, Iran, and starving kids in Africa (to name a few).
But what's your point? Getting tired of bad news doesn't change it. It sure would be cool if it did :)

The way our environment is changing is pretty important and everyone should listen no matter how long it takes to get the message across to everyone.
