I'm a nurse and I'm about to teach student nurses. Another teacher showed me she had a PDA that had some memory card that had a drug book and other nursing stuff on it. I thought this would be a great teaching tool for me, but I don't know anything about PDA's. Can someone help me with what would be a good brand for what I need it for? And something that is not going to cost an arm and a leg? And how in the world would I learn how to use it in terms of transfering all that info on it?? Please help!

I have heard and seen many in the medical industry using a Palm handheld. I would recommend the Palm LifeDrive ( http://www.palm.com/us/products/mobilemanagers/lifedrive/ ) It is a compact, light, yet powerful business tool. Included are 4 GB hard drive, WiFi (for hotspot connectivity to the Internet and networks), Bluetooth, a gorgeous large screen, and, of course, the easy-to-use Palm operating system. Score: 8 out of 10.

You should go for a PocketPC, i.e. it will haveWindows inside.
As per using it, it's so much fun. Don't worry, you'll learn in hours.

Transferring files: you will be using the cable that comes withit, connecting itto a normal desktop computer and from thereit is very simple, you won't get lost.

You can also try loading something onto the SD/MMC card, if the device supports, and just stickingit into the PocketPc.

Buy a Pocket PC powered by Windows.
You can run any Windows software on it, as well as have Word, Powerpoint files etc on it.
Buying the drug book to use on ur PDA might be a seperate purchase.

i respect my Sidekick3. i'm in grad college & I take my type notes on it. even as yI were given used to typing on a qwerty keypad with my thumbs i might want to sort swifter on that aspect than i might want to write. I take notes on my Sidekick3, e mail them to my yahoo account, reproduction them right into a word record, & keep them in a folder on my pc. a lot a lot less confusing to keep song of your notes that way, than utilising pen & paper. And it saves the complication of lugging round a heavy & severe priced laptop.
