These people are not cheating their spouse. They are cheating themselve and you need to feel guilty 1st when the thought struck you brain.
A spouse will not cheat if their love nest is in working condition. It is only when the nest is leaking, than one need space and time to recall what has happen. And by talking to others, they might clear their doubts.

Not me, I am very happy with my man. However, cheating has nothing to do with the person being cheated on and everything about the person doing the cheating. Cheats have very low self esteems. They feel a constant need to be found sexually attractive and wanted by the opposite sex. They will flirt and have affairs. Each affair gives them a "fix" to the self esteem for a very brief period, and eventually they need another fix to feel good about themselves again.
Emotional cheating occurres when a person turns outside the marriage to get emotiona needs met. If their emotional need are not being met at home they will turn to others. Sometimes this happens completely by accident. They are inexperianced with marriage and don't know how to communicate what their needs are, so they do not talk about them or do not try hard enough. If a person has talked until s/he is blue in the face without any resulting change in behavior of the spouse, it is time to seriously consider a huge mistake was made with the marriage in the first place. Sadly, many hurry into marriage before really learning who the other person is. It takes a good solid year or more of close aquantance before you can begin to really know somebody else. If you spend a lot of time together communicating and bonding that is. If you spend all that time with others, out in public, with friends or in bed having sex, there is not much time to really find out who each other really is. So, many go into marriage not really knowing each other, then say the other person "changed" after marriage. Worse is when red flags are being put up everywhere yet a person ignores them or thinks she can change her man. We can never change another person, it is just never going to happen.
Sadly, many who cheat are ill prepared for marriage for any number of reasons, not knowing who the person is, and not knowing who they are themselves. If you don't know who you are or what your needs are, how will you know when you find the person who suits you best? So, as long as so many continue to jump into marriage long before they are ready, and before they have developed a strong degree of self esteem cheating will continue to be the number one cause of divorce in our country. What a world of pain people bring onto themselves and then wish to blame somebody else. Sad, but true.

Depends on how many are regular cheaters, how many occasionals, and what number do it just to get even with the spouse! Guilt level varies according to the category. Answering "why" is a long story--maybe next time I'll answer it.

I've been having my first affair for two months now. I feel guilty enough that I've told my husband about it and broke it off, which lasted an hour. I feel really bad about it, but I can't get myself to stop. I just enjoy the excitement of it too much and really can't tell if I have real feelings for him or not (the married boyfriend) but can't stop thinking about him.

super guilty
because i don't have a spouse to cheat on
and i have no one to even cheat with on the spouse i don't have
but i tell you, if i had a spouse i would be cheating on my spouse with my spouse soooooo much that she would feel like my mistress and not my spouse

lol im cheating on my husband by being on this pc instead of in bed with him.. Na i love my husband very much.. and ive already told him i'll only cheat on him if Mathew McConaghey asks me to sleep with him.. so im pretty sure he's safe.. lol..

I'm not. I don't even flirt with anyone else. Why jeopardize or risk what you have? I don't do it in person or online. It hurts everyone involved,especially the couple.
