Is it true that yahoo is going to close down the free Yahoo Messenger.?

A copy of this was sent to me twice and a few of my yahoo 360 friends told me about it. And they were told that if we did not send out copys to others that our accounts would be discontinued. Does anyone no if this is true. I really hope that everyone can still find away to chat with one another. Here's the e-mail that was sent to my messenger account. {Yahoo is shutting down on 8-17-06, theywant to get rid of free messenger. If you delete this andf don't pass it on, your name will be deleted. A lot of people have already been deleted. Right click on the group name of your buddylist and click send instant message to all in that group.}
