We have decied to call our pet store " Pet Paradise". What do you think? We need your help with a slogan and a store design. Give me details on what you think is the best pet store design around. I want to close my eyes and see the store. I want to know what it looks on the outside and inside.
Let me tell you what we are going to carry. We will have fresh & salt water fish. Small animals: hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits & Chinchillas. Small birds. And reptiles.
We are in Northren California ( Redding, Ca) So, the laws are so strict in Ca. for carrying and selling dogs and cats that it is not worth it. We will be working with the local shelters for adoption days twice a month.
I want your great ideas. Think about the pet store you love the best. What do you love about it? If you wanted to run and own a pet store how would you lay things out & design the best store around. Thank you for all your help!

I think there might already be a Pet Paradise in Redding.
Contact Boyer's Best (916) 643-1860 for holistic and natural food, treats and toys. That is all the rage with pet owners right now.

Ill admit pet paradise isn't that unique but you can make it unique with the right slogan and look 2 the store. I would make the slogan something like; "where even our pets take a vacation" THAT'S GOLD! -lol )your welcome) well you get the idea... from there I would make the place gorgeous-- I would have fake green palm trees everywhere as well as pretty bird noises playing in the background--- Id have tropical flowers and tiki looking front counter maybe some Lay's and all the employees would wear floral/ Hawaiian shirts. Id have nice music playing and make it fun for the kids so they'd beg there parents to come back.

That is a good name. But try to be a little more creative. Try Tropical Pets or something creative that you like. But Pet Paradise is good too. That is so cool that you are working with the shelters. You will find some dogs and cats new homes. Remember to take care of all the animals properly. Don't forget to feed them and clean their cage. Good luck for the petshop.

I'm sorry, but my first thought was that Pet Paradise meant dead pets - like a cemetery, or a company to bury or embalm my pets. Like i said, sorry.

I am on the east coast. Petco and Petsmart don't sell dogs and/or cats either - but they do have adoption days , usually on the weekend, where people bring in rescued animals to be adopted.
they also sponsor (in the back of the store) several classes for dogs - like socialization, basic obedience, etc. they carry all sorts of dog/cat food, toys, houses, leashes, etc. So i buy a lot there - they let me take my dog inside. i like that a LOT.
NOT EXACTLY LAYOUT
it is usually hard for me to find which animal section is where. One store has really big ( plastic, i imagine) dogs, cats, ferrets, etc - over that section of the store - so you can look up toward the ceiling and easily ID the area you want, and where to find ALL the dog stuff, ALL the cat stuff, grouped together by animal.etc.
i haven't seen this, but it would be cool to be able to bring in a photo of my dog and order a t-shirt or cup with their photo on it.
Or to bring in several pictures of my pet, and get them made into a calender in a few weeks.
layout - everything grouped by pet. Easy to get around - i don't like the aisles to be a strange angles.

I love the idea of Pet Paradise. Maybe a tropical island theme. Put the check out near the entrance of the store and group animals with their supplies. Sounds like fun. Good luck with your business.

hi. Pet Paradise is a rather common name for a pet shop. It doesn't have the Oomph factor.
But i love pet shops which hold adoption days. :)

Pet Paradise is too common... maybe you can call it Pet Adventures or Pet Shot which means pets call the shot... :-)

unique pets would be a good name because all animals are unique and difrent in thier on way kind of like us sept for we dont have scales ,and fur
