The biggest cover up has got to be the fantastic number of people who honestly believe that there is a JFK, 9/11, Area 51, UFO, Elvis, Bigfoot, cover up going on without the slightest shred of evidence to back them up. 2) 911
There specially the story from the US Government about the "heroic" passengers about the airplane in Pennsylvania. This story is bullshit. The passengers AND the terrorists would have not had a chance to bring the plane down. Only if the terrorists are in charge of the airplane ... then the Airforce had to act!
It is clear that the US Air Force shot this plane down. But they cover it up to save a lot of money from the relatives of the victims.

I'd have to say it's the fallacy about the seperation between church and state. Everytime something comes on the news about religion and government, people on the street quote "dude, it's the seperation of church and state." Since this never existed in our Constitution, still does not exist, but millions of Americans believe in it, I'd have to rate it as one of the biggest cover ups in history.

Tough one. There have been so many. There's Gen Macarthur getting his *** whipped by Nth. Korea when he said China wouldn't send troops across the border (they did, and thousands of US soldiers were killed in the retreat). There's Winston Churchill, another famous warrior, who dreamed up the invasion of Turkey by Australian regulars who got totally nailed by the Turks (Gallipoli). By the way, 'Winnie' was on speed at the time and drunk every day. There's the bin Laden family exit by air when every airline was grounded following 9/11 (It did happen, by the way kids, so stop insulting the families who lost loved ones and face reality).... I could go on all day. But you know, the biggest one is probably not known. It's still covered up!
