The human mind cannot understand what it doesn't understand. Understand? The fact that one can conceive of such an entity is proof that it can be defined. Try to imagine something without limits, without borders, without a clearly defined "otherness" - I bet you can't do it. I suspect that that means trying to define OR understand a concept like "God" is largely futile, but that doesn't keep people from trying. Belief exists outside of understanding.

Defining God is easy. He is the creator of all things great and small. I think that in order to understand or accept God, you must have the belief that He is God. I'm not saying that you have to believe in a particular religion. I am a Christian and I think that if you are trying to understand or accept God that you are probably being convicted and God is calling out to you.

As far as We believers being idiots... look who is talking. You came from somewhere.... where was it? Oh an ape I guess... but guess what... that ape had to come from somewhere too.

I certainly think you can accept God without being able to define Him. In fact, I think this is the case for many people. It was for me.
What I genuinely think is that each person is created wondering about just this. Your question being an example.
If right, in itself...is proof of a Higher Being. For me, that Higher Being is called God, known in the Holy Bible.

Everything in life has a creator, a "parent". Of course, the "buck" has got to stop somewhere. As for me, it stands to reason that this world and the human race too has a creator.
To happen by "accident" would be likened to taking a box of puzzle pieces, throwing it up in the air and the pieces all fit together to form a picture in landing. Likelyhood of that?

Why would you have to define God? It isn't necessary. Even God doesn't "define" God. Remember "Father, Son & Holy Spirit"?? It is up to you. Can you accept something that you cannot see, touch, hear or feel? Is there a God? I have no idea...I just don't rule out anything in this world.

do u have to define your parents before understanding them & acceopting them ? do u have to define nature to understand & accept it ?how can u define god ? it is either u believe in him or don't believe him that is all. even if u can define him do u think others will accept your definition ? god exists in this world in different forms to different people. i understand god according my religion & my brlief. that may not be acceptable to u. so, accept god & understand him in your own way. don't try to define him.any definition is usually universal.though god is one u cannot define him to the satisfaction of all the people who belong to different religions.

I don't think so. I believe if you read the Bible and full understand what is written then, you want have to define God because he explain himself to us. Then it will be your choice to accept him. I do hope I answered your question.

To understand the meaning of any concept, you have to define it first. This is more important in case of God, as this concept cuts across many races and many faiths and it has impact on different aspects of thinking.

God is, at the very core, the greatest inventor and scientist in the universe. He created this from scratch and from that, we know that there is nothing impossible on His level.

Believing this to be true, we now know that there is also nothing we may not understand about our physical universe given the time and wisdom to learn it.
