There is going to be a full moon on the 9th and the best viewing is the 12th and the last quarter is the 16th. so the moon is going to be still pretty bright. I love this meteor shower. Every year its either raining, cloudy or im working. Im off this year for it and its going to be too bright out to see :(

I love the perseids meteor shower! I remember lying in the hammock at my parent's house with my science teacher boyfriend watching them years ago, and ever since, they have been special. Now I have a science teacher husband, so we still watch them together.

The moon will mess with a little but I wouldn't be too worried. Just look forward to the Geminids in December. Those are my favorite even though it's usually freezin cold here during that time. Why these are my favorite? These meteors come from an asteroid rather than a comet. These meteors move slower across the sky than the average comet meteor showers. It seems like the Orions in Novemeber always peak somewhere else around the world. I wasn't alive back in 1966 when North America saw an awesome 100,000 an hour meteor shower show then.
