Alzheimer's disease is a form of dementia. There are other forms like Parkinson's or vascular dementia from a stroke. You can have more than one type at once.

dementia is more like short term memory loss. its kinda like the beginning of alzheimers.but when alzheimers is fully developed most people cant remember anything , even their family.
