I started the birth control pill Loestrin on the first day of my period, and have been taking it every day at around the same time (within about an hour or two) but I am now on the tenth day of my period and although it is lighter than when it first started, it has not stopped. Should I be concerned about this??? Thanks!

you're supposed to start it the sunday after your period (or if you're on your period and sunday falls in the middle of it, you start it)

Not that that's a HUGE thing.

But, if this is your first pack, don't worry. Your hormones on on the fritz. If it continues next month, consult a doctor.

Your body needs to get used to the birth control.. wait it out and see what happens.. If it continues to be long something is probably wrong.. not necessarily w/you, but your body might not like that particular kind of birth control. They say birth control is supposed to make your periods lighter and shorter, and less painful.. none of this happened for me. They are heavy.. they last 7 days.. and I have cramps that would kill me if I was a man and not a woman. But my periods were irregular and now I know they are coming and that is enough for me for now..

I was on 2 different kinds of birth control before the one I am on. With both of them.. I had my period twice a month.. the doctor made me wait it out a couple months to see if it would change and it didnt.. your doctor will help you find something that will work for you if this problem continues.
