You need to fill out a Reg E form at your bank if the ATM was at another. You will have the money deposited into your account on a provisional basis until the discrepancy can be verified.

You need to contact the bank as soon as possible. If it was a random ATM in a mall, you should call the number listed on the ATM. You should still have you receipt, and you should talk to whatever bank you drew the money from.

Depending on how long you waited, it may already be too late.

But then again, who ever heard of an ATM dispensing $50s?

Talk to the source bank of the ATM. If it wasn't a bank ATM, look up the company on Yahoo Yellow Pages. That's messed up and I'm always afraid of that, so make sure to report it to the company.

If the company could care less, contact the Better Business Bureau. They may already have tons of complaints about it.

Report it to the bank. They will do a manual count of the money in the machine to determine if there is a discrepancy.

Check your bank account first. Make sure that you actually got $200, and not $250 taken out. If there was an error, then you have to call your bank.

Call your bank now and file a Regulation E claim. You will be credited for the funds while the investigation is done.

that happened to my sister. you need to tell the bank about it. it may take a while but you should be able to find out if it actually did or not. they'll have to count all of the money that is in it to see if it shorted you or not.
