I am traveling with 2 young children. We are willing to go by plane, train, bus, or a combination of all three.

Probably bus or train. But of course it depends on when you're going and where you're going from.
Best to check out the sites for the bus (www.greyhound.com), train (amtrak.com), and something for airplane (like travelocity.com, or with particular carriers, like Air Canada, American Airlines, etc.). Or just ask a travel agent (but they generally charge to find and make a booking, which is annoying).
If you are going from Canada (as this is the Canadian site) going by anything other than airplane would be a pain, particularly with 2 young children, due to the distance, just as a sidenote.
