Im a teacher at college. Go ahead. We love that.
Nah, just kidding. You both have too much to loose if things go wrong. Too many things can go wrong. For us teachers, the dangers are obvious, but for you, consider this....
By the end of the semester, will the teacher be grading your work or your intimacy?
Can you deal with not knowing where that grade came from?
What if the teacher is lousy or boring in bed?
Will you have to keep being intimate in order to not compromise your grade?
Forget it. If you are really attracted to the teacher, flirt AND earn your grade. Doing this, by the end of the semester, the teacher is definitely yours.

It's a very good way for the teacher to lose their job. Most places have fairly strict rules about not dating while the student is actually in the class taught by the teacher. It is one of the few ways tenure can be revoked.
On the other hand, after the student is out of the course (and depending on the college), it is often OK to go ahead and date. That's how my second wife and I got together.

At most colleges there is some policy against this. At other colleges it is an unwritten rule. I know of some friends that dated there students after they graduated or long after they taught them. I think that the main point is to not date anyone that you are currently teaching. This may be hard for grad students that are teaching because the students are close to your age or may be older. Also make sure that you can back yourself up if you end up in court (this being the worse case scenerio).

my point of view on this matter-it's degradable. others might think i graduated because of this affair not through my own accord, intellect and determination.
i feel so embarrassed when i was attending college cause few of my professor hit on me. i feel humiliated cause they do it in front of the class, i started avoiding that subject so i won't see them anymore. i got scared cause they might pursue their interest and if i don't give in, i might receive a low grade that i don't deserve. they usually let me sit in front even the arrangement is alphabetically in which my last name is almost at the end and always point the issue towards my attention, always touching my hand or pat me on my shoulder, that is irritating. i always get teased by my friends and i don't like the innuendos.
i guess that is why i lost interest on continuing schooling because of that part. its not that im dumb, im always the top of the class, i should have ignore it but i demand respect and since im unable to get it, i quit.
thinking what i know now, if i know it back then, i probably fight back, and become an accomplish accountant. see what bad professor inflict on young lady's reputation and mind? not good.....

I'm a college teacher-and I think it's a moral and ethical mistake (not to mention grounds for dismissal)!

it sounds hotter than hell, either way. Male student pounding a female professor is probably the hottest though.
If you have the opportunity . . . go for it. You are one of .00000001% of the population that will have this opportunity.
Have fun and share the details. ;-)
P.S. I assume you are at least 18. If not, go ask your parents what you should do.

The teacher should not do this, just like a marathon-athlete should not smoke.
