If it's a comic you've been trying to find for years now, then yes buy it.
Is this paticular comic going to fill a hole in your collection?
Or is it for entertainment value?
Or do you want the bragging rights of owning it?
I spent years trying to find certain issues, wound up paying quite a bit of dinero for 'em.

A little more information about which specific title and issue you are hoping to acquire would be helpful. But on basic principle, back issues depend upon age, quality, and other factors. If it is in good shape and you can afford to buy it without hurting yourself economically, then go ahead.
