I am a rookie coach teaching 5-6 yrs flag football as well. I have been experimenting on my own 5 year old and after a few days he know what you call points (touchdown) and that offense means go and defense means stop. I have two practices before a game and I intend to use those two hours to practice lining up and handing the ball off and flag pulling. After working with my son (2 sec attention span), I realized I will be good if I can teach them touchdown, offense is go, defense is stop, how to line up, and how to hand off. After working with my son... that may be too ambitious!
