What name is more attractive for a business plan I am putting together?

Question

It is going to incorporate several programs geared toward educational and career counseling, summer workshops, presentations, summer youth development, and campus visits/college preparation. So far I have come up with these names (please pick what you like the best and say why):
1. Ceres Consulting
2.Ferguson Consulting
3.Community Consulting
4.Mosby's Consulting
5.Cereus Consulting
6.Community & Service Consulting
7.Community Service Consulting
8. Public & Community Consulting
9.Personal & Community Consulting
10.Individual & Community Consulting

I dont like any of those choices to be honest with ya. Numbers 1, 5, and 11 dont sound professional at all. You said your business is going to be geared towards educational and career counseling so why not call it "Education and Career Counseling" then you can go ahead and make it an LLC and you are set!

Because you are offering services to both individual people, groups and the community. Add a striking logo to that with a catchy motto and your in business. However if you don't go with # 10, please don't use a persons fisrt or last name in your businesses name. # 5 is ok, Cereus, serious, Your allowed to have a little fun with the name. But for some reason when new upstart businesses use a persons first or last name in the title they tend to fail at a higher rate.
But don't let that scare you! Business names can be changed at the drop of a hat! But you would have to go through the costly process of reordering business cards and letterheads.
Good luck in your new endevor, and don't give up. Remember, if one business doesn't work out, start a new one!

I don't like any of these, esp 6 and 7, they sound like public works or service or something totally different, and just to say individual and community (do you guys do marriage counselling?) is also misleading.

What about Four Seasons Educational Consultants?

But I don't really like consultant either, no one really knows what "consultants" do.

None of the above. All of these leave an opening that someone might misunderstand, because it is vague about what areas are available for consultation. Call it Career Development Consultating, Plus.

I like #6. In general it makes it sound like the business has a broad base (community) and service makes it sound like you're doing something for me. I don't really like any of the others.

I vote for #7 -it tells me what your service is directly. I don't like any of the ones with the names, especialy #11, because it sounds like you don't take the business seriously by using a first name.
