I try to click on the volume control like but it says it cant be found and when i search for it i cant find it..... i dont hv the 98se disk.....is there anywhere i can download the fiels needed or does ne one have them????

The file you need is in C:\windows\ and is called sndvol32.exe
just open C: and look for it under the "S"s...
If it is not there, do a FIND,
if it does not find it anywhere, then it was erased ( although I
suspect that it was just moved or the shortcut is corrupt...)

If these methods fail, search for the filename in dogpile.com
and someone may have it, including Microsoft, although they
may have erased it, since they are officially not supporting 98
any more...

Do you sound? check device manager and go to sound, video game controllers. Right click your sound device and click properties. uninstall even if it says it is working properly. reboot machine and it will detect and reinstall it. Since you had it installed before, the drivers are still on your machine. there has been a problem with the ksuser.dll file. it will re-install it.
