Although many ideas here supporting it are fine, you have to ask where do you draw the line to how many holes you will allow. I would say IF you say yes you should say "but no more piercings at all." I would say no, or wait until 10th or 11th grade. But some consider me a strict parent. I'm not sure I would have said yes to the 2nd one actually.

Sure, why not? Just make sure that she is capable of taking care of them. I have three holes in each ear, and I have found that the higher the piercing, the harder it is to keep them from getting infected. It shouldn't be a problem at that age.

Better her ears than other body parts. Those holes can and will close and heal when she grows up and decides maybe 6 ear piercings are 4 too many.

Well that depends on how you and her feel. If you are not comfortable with it you need to express that to her but also have some valid points to why you dont want her to do it. She may be mad at you for a while but shes a teenager and we all hated our parents at one time or another in this stage. My mom didnt let me get my tongue pierced and her and i didnt get along for a while but now that im grown up her and i couldnt be closer.

I'm going to be in 10th grade and I have three holes in each ear and will soon be getting my cartilage peirced. My mom and I are very open with each other and she appreciates my decisions that I make for my body. But it is truly up to you whether or not you will let your daughter get her third hole.

I don't know, but please let me know how it turns out. I'm not for tats and piercing because even if the kid is good, it gives a bad representation to the general public. I don't want my daughter pre-judged negatively by her appearance if I can prevent it. Society will tell you....oh yeah....everybody just be themselves, but yet in corporate and affluent USA, you don't see the rising CEO's with body piercings and tats.

yes, you should let your daughter peirce her ears . but you should let her know that if you let her do this she has to twist the earring back and forth daily and put the medication you get at the store that peirced her ears.(like a store like claires or icing) on every day because if she doesnt it can get infected and she has to know that its a big responsibilty letting her do this

It's perfectly alright. Trying to control her will only lead to a stronger rebellion... better to take her to a sanitary place than have her try to pierce it herself with a safety pin, you know?
Besides, a friend of mine has almost 20 piercings, and shes an AP student, probably going to Yale. :-)
