we are ashamed of the naked truth. sometimes we lie to cushion the fall. to others we lie for we dread or fear for them. admittedly, a lie is a lie. either white, straight, half-truth, etc... we have too but not suppose too... we never accept we are wrong for our own pride, dignity, honor, and sometimes, life. is it wrong? who is to say? is it justifiable? who is to say? otherwise, there wouldn't be the flipside of truth, right? and a balance should always be there to negate the other...
but then again, i may be lying?.... or am i?

Even a devil would want to come to earth and tell us the truth that he wishes despair for all mankind, and a god may feel it is OK to lie for the greater good, or to save us from evil. There is nothing evil in a lie, as there is nothing inherently good in the truth.
I don't think we can understand either without the other. The concept of a lie implies there is a truth not being told, and for us to recognize the truth implies we at least thought of lies that could have been told.
The lie is necessary because without it there could be no truth, in the same way we would not know the good without the presence of evil.

In a sense,, everything we say is a lie to someone else.. everyone has a different perspective on a situation.. so if the person believes what he or she says is true and another person is certain that he or she is wrong than who is really right... are they both lieing or is noone lieing.. lies are relative and should not be addressed as exsisting

Telling lies is never a necessity but an addiction that grows every time you tell another lie. Honesty is the best policy, but tact goes along with it in order to make the truth sometimes not hurt so bad. If we teach our children these principles we teach them that lies are never a necessity but an ugly, dirty habit. Telling the truth sometimes is painful but finding out the truth after being fed a bunch of lies is even harder to bear.

A lie can be defined as any information given or withheld with intent to deceive...
Are you in the Philosophy category to seek truth, a battle of wits or simply to spout a poor form of poetry?

Last night I learned what it was to lie to protect and to steal. The devil is the theft. The Gods unveil themselves when we refuse to steal or be stolen from. How do we do this? How do you protect yourself without becoming what you're trying to protect yourself from?

if lieing makes you the devil then hell must be pretty full and heaven has to have a closed sign of the gates. everyone lies sometimes we have to and sometime people are just dishonest these things happen.
