what does salvage mean?

Don't buy a salvaged car! You won't ever be able to sell it again. Why are you looking at just an M3? I would do some research and open your mind to other makes and models that might offer the same preformance. Have you considered a Mercedes with an AMG package that might be a few years old?

well its impossible to find a good cheap M3! the M3 and M5 are more expensive than the other models, except M6, but that's not cheap at all and new! if you wanted to get a good M3 try to see if it has been driven hard, because most likely who ever owned or owns a M3 they have driven it a little hard because it is so much fun to drive! I would recommending a 5 series! like a 530i or even the 540i because its cheaper and good too! Salvage means it has been in a collision of some sort and it has been renewed to it's standard specs and has to pass some tests, but some junkyards don't do these tests they just give you the title as a Salvage! I wouldn't buy a salvage BMW because the maintainence on these cars are pretty high!

a cheap and good m3 only in our dreams. you'll have to pay. also salvage means the car has been involved in a collision or had any kind of accident and it was salvaged , meaning it had to pass a series of tests before it would be on the road again. a salvage bimmer would be cheap.

Forget the above answers: There are many, many used M3s out there that are affordable, specifically the 1995-1997 models.

Cars.com is the best place to look, and there are TONS out in L.A. on the site. Fast car, killer looks, and in 1995, it was ranked in the top 5 handling cars in the world.

One warning: You must keep to maintainace without fail. Watch the fuel pump, as they are plastic. BMW wanted to save weight, and it is a huge weak point.
