Oi, this can be a VERY long answer. Okay, you know there are different kinds of rays the sun produces (like light, UV A and B, etc). Some of the sun's rays can penetrate all the layers surrounding the earth (Others are blocked by our Ozone) and eventually hit either soil or water. When it strikes the earth's surface, it loses a bit of it's energy and bounces off as heat. The problem is, that since these rays have changed into heat, they can't return back out of earth's layers of atmosphere. It becomes trapped by various gases in the sky (H20, CO2, etc).
The Ozone is made of O3, a special ion of oxygen. It allows rays to go through it, but it traps the products of the rays (heat) beneath it because of the other gasses. The heat is trapped, and therefore the world as a whole warms up.
If you're familiar with greenhouses, this happens on a smaller level. Light from the sun goes through the glass easily, hits the ground/plants and loses energy. What's left is heat. Heat is held by the water, CO2, and other air particles and is lost only slowly through the glass.
So if all this happens naturally, why do people say we're increasing global warming? Carbon Dioxide and other pollutants help trap the heat, the more CO2 (etc) there is in the air, the more heat it can hold. Also, other pollutants depleat the semi-protective Ozone and allow more powerful rays from the sun to reach us, increasing the amount of heat produced. SO all those answers about the Ozone and greenhouse gasses, reduced numbers of trees, etc, etc - they all tie into the natural greenhouse effect.
There's a whole other counter argument about if the earth warms up more, more water evaporates, more heat is held, earth heats up more, more water evaporates, etc. Then of course all the evaporated water is cloud, the clouds prevent amounts of light from hitting the earth's surface, and therefore after a while, the earth will cool itself off like this.

I've explained the greenhouse effect in a nutshell, but you could really write pages on the topic....hope it was helpful, because other sources of global warming are relatively theoretical and far fetched. One credible/plausible cause is the fusion occuring at the earth's core producing increasing amounts of heat. So much so that the earth isn't able to cast the heat off into space at a comparible rate.

international warming will develop into international cooling because once you've invested an huge volume of power faking, forging, manipulating records and advertising the fake theory that CO2 causes a international temperature upward push however the records starts to illustrate a cooling sort then you really pull the old switcheroo and hopefully desire each and every person is so mind damaged by using the actual pollution, mercury, lead, fluoride and Fox information that their delicate minds may even settle for that its attainable. the certainty is clearly changed into that there changed into no genuine guy-made international warming to start with, and any moderate warming changed into thoroughly organic. international temperature is pushed specially by using image voltaic pastime, and image voltaic flare pastime is now at a low so the planet is honestly presently cooling after an ever so moderate upward push. So the reply is..... it may't. One would not reason the different the temperature only fluctuates counting on image voltaic pastime.

Chlorfluorocarbons (CFC). CFC are organic compounds that contain crbon, chloring and flurine atoms. CFC is highly refigerant. CFC when released into the atmosphere they decompose the ozone oxygen. This allows harmful rays to inter our atmosphere and cause global warming.

Due to the depletion of ozone layer. This is due to 'CO'(Carbon Monoxide).Ozone layer resistes the harm full rays coming from the sun.Because of the depletion of ozone layer these rays are reaching the earth...This is the causes of global warming... :-)

Increases in CO2. These come from cars, factories, decomposition of trash, etc. Also, cutting down trees causes more CO2 because there are less trees to use the CO2.

Natural weather cycles. That's what ended the ice ages. Pretty sure that wasn't fossil fuels.
