Hmm, kids have so many fears of the irrational and so few of the rational. I could give you answers to both, but to address the rational fears is what I think you want. I feared not being good enough in my parents eyes. I was the oldest and therefore the protector and the one to set the example for my siblings. If I did wrong it was bad enough because I set a bad example on top of doing wrong, but if I was present when my siblings did something wrong I was often punished too as if I could have stopped them without fighting them and getting in trouble for that as well. Sorry if it sounds bad. I love my family even though we aren't very close now. We are all grown up and living our own lives. But this is my answer to your question.

I feared gypsies, because they stole children in movies and raised them as gypsies. The children were always princesses.

I feared Teddy Boys (kind of pre-greasers in Scotland) because we were told to fear them. Mind you, they didn't even know we eight year old kids existed. But still, we crossed the street to avoid them.

I feared the monsters under my bed and uses to jump from the middle of the room to my bed in one mighty leap so they couldn't get me.

And after I read Wuthering Heights I feared a ghostly hand touching mine in bed at night.

But strangely enough I really feared the ferris wheel. I could go on any of the wild rides and love them. But I always had this fear of slipping out of the seat of the ferris wheel. The bar across the seat just didn't seem safe enough to me. But because I feared it I always made myself go on it. I don't know whether that was silly or wise, but I never did get over that fear.
I still don't like them unless they are like cages with doors and windows and all enclosed. Then I love them.

I had an immense fear of the dark and made my mom turn on the light in my room before I went to sleep. I also was afraid of being left alone.

The massive old oil burning furnace in my parents old home, but when I was nine yrs old, I finally got up the courage to face the monster with huge white asbestos tentacles-(Large Furnace Ducts that spanned the entire basement)- with my cardboard cut-out sword, thus the beast surrendered;) LOL

Death and sharks. Well, not just sharks in general...sharks in the shower drain. Imagine this: you're taking a nice, warm shower when suddenly a huge shark jumps out of the drain to eat you. Not a nice picture.

Oh, and I was afraid that there was someone hiding under my bed. I used to have to jump off of my bed so that if there were someone hiding under it, I would be too far away for them to reach my ankles.

The dark, heights (started when I was very, very young), men in general (due to being abused by men in my life), the dark and scary basement in our house (you had to get in there by going outside--my dad even found a bat in there once), scary noises in the house (lived in an old 1890s house), having an open closet and having something or someone come out of it to get me and my family, and being abandoned by those I love.

Thunder and lightning! I was in a mountain meadow when I was 10, when a huge summer electrical storm came up. I saw lightning go UP from the ground. I felt the ground surge under my feet.

I still am frightened. I think it missed me that day, and will get me eventually!

DALEKS! They were the bad guys on Doctor Who (British sci-fi series) when I was a kid in the 60s. Had nightmares about the things.
