Screen windows and doors will prevent adult mosquitos to get inside the room. But sometimes they laid their eggs in the screen itself, and when the eggs turn into mosquitos it will penetrate the screen.
Usually the evening mosquitoes are harmless, they just bite and resulting red dot and itchty to your skin.
As they are so many chemical based mosquito repellent, such as skin lotion, spray, electric burnt, incense,I wouldn;t recommend any of them.
Naturally we can't get rid the mosquitoes by:
1.High frequency wave, the gadget sold in some store, but sometimes it distracts dog and human sensitive earing.
2.Male Mosquitoes, since the dangerous one is the female one (the bitting one),but it won't solve the problem, just adding another type of mosquitoes.

The most recommended one from me is :
Put Lavender flower on the pots, inside your house. Lavender flower has been long proofed as the strong mosquito repellent. It is non-toxic,beautiful,got a good frangance, surely repell the mosquitos.Good luck.

There is several kinds of burners that are similar to incense that work pretty well, but the negative effect is you may or may not enjoy the smell. Some burners use a smokeless type liquid that evaporated into the air with little smell. These types are pretty effective but still will have some mosquito's that are relentless and wont leave you alone. Also its good to try and eliminate any stagnant or still water around your home and inside your home, ie. plant trays, empty buckets, things like that, as those also attract the little devils. Good luck to you, and also you can try to use Burt's Bees green cream on the bites that you get on your body, i find it helps to stop the itching very well.

Try PIC mosquito coils. Put them on a saucer near your entryways. They emit a small amount of smoke that the mosquito don't like. Remove all standing water, Be sure to at everything outdoors that can hold water, even stored off-season car tires. Personally, I never get bitten, I'm sure taht this is beacuse I take B-vitamins daily. Sound strange? Apparently, the B-vitamins give your skin an odor that only skeeters came scent and itrepels them. Has worked for me for yrs. We have esppecially visous skeewters here in Alaska. I have seen them in swarms of several hundred at a time.

You are not going to believe these but when I was in the army we were outside ALL the time in a mosquito ridden area. Everyday I ate 2 tops of matches (because of the sulfur) and I NEVER got bit. So I did an experiment and went a couple days without it. I was bit all over!! It's crazy but true.
Also for outside parties or BBQs use citronella candles. They're pretty and keep them away. Target sells some!

best check why you have so many mosquitos in the first place, check for stagnent water outside your home and if possable remove it,as this is there breeding ground,if you cant remove the water, poor a little kerosine on it,it will float on the surface and stop them from breeding,if you live near water well then your stuck with them, try the old fly sticky paper,or an electricial zapper, they work fine

To prevent misquitos from getting in, along with the screen doors and windows, try closing the curtains. Another hint: misquitos are attracted to salt, which is contained in your sweat.

mosquitos never bother me even if they are biting ppl around me, i think it has to do with the scent your skin puts out, theyre attracted to sweat so take showers and avoid wearing scented products

Get rid of any standing water around the home. Also, mow the grass shorter. Plant marigolds, and use citronella.
