Is this supposed to be a riddle? If so then:

Poor to Pood (a Russian unit of weight equal to about 36.11 pounds) --> Pood to Wood --> Wood to Word

I saw a similar riddle in justriddlesandmore.com where in a word (example: Poor) is changed into a new word (example: Rich) one letter at a time.
