It can be considered a racist group since they're only interested in the advancement of colored people meaning black people, not everyone else.

The intent, so the NAACP can keep its donations as a tax right-off, was to serve people in the avenue of equality. However, they have decided that the term “colored” can only refer to blacks, although black people hate the word.

The big issue right now is the fact the NAACP has openly supported left-wing Democrats and black candidates. This is not allowed under the laws that say an entity can not claim tax exempt status and support a certain candidate. Most black people don’t agree with this; so it is a good indication that the NAACP is racist.

My grandmother, who was American Indian, asked them to help her. The case worker said, “Oh you are white.” The case worker said there are other agencies for whites. So my understanding of this matter is all races are white and the NAACP was only for blacks.

extremely racist.... Unless you think it would be okay to create the NAAWP (National Association for the Advancement of White People), then right there it's a racist organization. Just as affirmative action is a racist policy, only that's on two fronts. One that it chooses other races over whites, but also because it degrades those who "benefit" from it by telling them that they could never "do it" on their own. Any group that defines itself by race is quite clearly a racist group.

****UPDATE***

Got2BMe you have got to be the most ignorant person on this board, WTF is up with this:

"This organization was formed when all of you people who are complaining that this is racist had forefathers who were either participating in crimes against blacks or turning their heads not willing to help."

That is about as racist a statement as you can make. You've just basically said that if you see a bunch of russian's or white French people, or Canadians walking down the street, you know nothing about them but you judge them by their color as people who come from slave owners or people who weren't willing to help slaves. Grow up, and throw a pitty party elsewhere. I don't want to hear this "I'm disadvantaged because I'm black"... Do you have any idea how much money gets dumped in to "the black community", only it goes further down hill by the year as a result of the hip-hop culture. How about you lay blame where it belongs like dirtbag men who get women pregnant and don't take care of their kids? Everyone has their own disadvatages, so STFU. It's not a matter of race, it's a matter of economic status. If you're poor you're poor and it ain't got sh** to do with your color.. I suggest rolling by some trailer parks and see what you find. I just love when black women offer their extra food stamps because they get to many, and then jump in their pimped out suburban.

Back to us all having forefathers complicate in slavery a minute.... Break yo' self foo! If you thought before you spoke/typed you'd realize that the majority of Americans don't have "roots" that go back more than a couple generations. You would have to seriously look around to try to find someone who had family around here at the time.

No because the are not practicing any racial activities and also they are a group that allow all races to be a member. Any person can be a part of the NAACP race is not the issue. the mission is to change close minded individuals and fight or equality in the work force, and to lobby congress.

HELLO! the very name implies racism. Just how far do you think any organization would get if it was named "The national association for the advancement of white people" would get in this country today. The same goes for any group which would be named "The White College Basketball Coaches Association." The majority is not permitted free expression and freedom in America any longer.

No it is not a racist group. The NAACP ws created to help blacks in America get equality. As a matter of a fact the NAACP was founded by a white man and has white members. So i resent the fact that someone else reffered it to the KKK becuase you so not see black people in the KKK.

Good god almighty. I swear, white people want to be everything, everywhere, and in every place. This organization was formed when blacks couldn't walk the streets alone. This organization was formed when all of you people who are complaining that this is racist had forefathers who were either participating in crimes against blacks or turning their heads not willing to help. Why is it that most of the affluent workforce can be white with very little black representation and no one screams racism, but as soon as you have a little hope in a dark world for black people...white folks always wanna scream...."that's not fair". LOL I'm for all people, not just blacks, but I can guarantee you, from the black world that I'm living in, things are STILL not equal. This probably by passes you because you don't care or are not as affected by these injustices like black people are. I agree with Malcolm X on one point....when you see a group of blacks helping themselves, don't approach them saying..."how can I help?", there's nothing you can do because obviously they're already doing it. Help someone else who is asking for it. Take care!

Before answering, consider if it were NAAWP instead? Would that be a racist group?

I've never heard of anything the NAACP did that would make me compare it to the KKK, but once I heard a comedian muse over what the reaction would be if it were White instead of Colored. I have to admit that if I heard of an NAAWP I'd probably jump to the conclusion that it was a racist organization. I have an unexplained double standard on this one.

No the NAACP grew to become into started in 1909 earlier the civil rights pass at a time whilst blacks have few to nil rights. It grew to become into put in place to uplift the black race at a time as quickly as we've been seen 2nd type. people might desire to look on the historic past earlier making clams of racist and/or racism as a results of fact in 1909 blacks have been being crushed, lynched, raped and what have you ever and it grew to become into ok. So who grew to become into being racist whilst they everyday the NAACP?

I think that back in the day, when it was first created, it was ok. But, today there is for the most part equality among all races. So, I think that today, it is very similar to any other group promoting the superiority of a certain race over other races. So, yeah, it's racist.
