I had a non reversible tubal ligation that was done nearly 14 years ago. There have been several occasions where I thought I could be pregnant. To this day I have been fortunate not to be. But I still worry that it could happen. At almost 43 i'm not ready to start being a new mommy all over again especially not when my children are 14 & 15. I figured if it's non reversible I should be safe and not have to worry, I mean that was the whole idea in having this type of tubal ligation.

The failure rate for tubal ligation is 1 case in every 300-500 women; rates of failure are higher in younger women. More importantly, the rate of ectopic pregnancy risk is also drastically increased in women who have undergone tubal ligation - about 7 ectopic pregnancies per 1,000 procedures [which may not seem like a lot unless you are the one w/the ectopic].

You are probably starting pre menopause so you may be irregular and moods will start to change now too

I believe there is a slight chance but if you are worried about it why not talk to your doctor about the pill? until menopause.

Yes it is possible since the procedure is not always successful.
