If you soak through more than 1 to 2 pads in an hour go tot your er because you could be hemorraging, but it you are just soaking a pad every few hours then It could be normal. My sister bled for 28 days after her last son and i bled for 3 weeks after i had my last child. If you are getting clots that's OK but it you pass a clot bigger than a baseball or your fist go to the hospital, and You should still make a doctors apt. to make sure your OK. You should be having you 8 week check up soon to but don't wait if you think is serious

No, it's definitely NOT normal.

This happened to me too. I had a hematoma in my uterus. The doctor gave me medication to fully contract my uterus and it passed. Once passed the problem was solved.

Call the doctor IMMEDIATELY tomorrow morning and tell them what's going on, especially how heavy & clotted it is. They will have you come in for an exam.

It may be a hematoma, or it could be that a tiny piece of placenta is still left inside, which means your uterus hasn't contracted all the way and cut off the extra blood supply.

You will be OK- these things are fixable. But it's imperative you see a doctor tomorrow, as continued bleeding like that can cause anemia and blood loss and shock.

I know after I had my daughter I was bleeding for well over 6 weeks and it was pretty bad. Mine was on and off too but it finally stoped. I guess every woman is diffrent, you might want to consult a doctor just to be on the safe side.

Some women can bleed off & on for up to 3 months after giving birth. It could be normal for you. You better contact your OBGYN for a better answer though.

Are you breast feeding? If you are, you are probably over-doing it physically and are not resting and allowing your body to recover. Call your OB in the morning to get his/her opinion. If you are NOT breast feeding, you could be starting back up with your period. The first few periods after you have the baby are very heavy. It should be about back to normal by the third period.

Sometimes that is normal. I was told to take Motrin every 6 hours after my last baby b/c i was bleeding like that. My doc told me i was trying to do too much and that is my bodies way of telling me. Take it easy and call your doc.
