I am trying to decide if the online Zend courses and certification are enough/better than those offered as continuing education.

I already have experience with PHP, and am deciding if certification by Zend is something worth obtaining.

I don't think its worh right now, if PHP will hit that bigger count in a year or so, maybe then... but just learning PHP and have a advansed application running is a certificate in it self...

Learning PHP is worth it...but if you have a choice between languages, you'd be better equiped for a job with C, C++, Java, or C#. PHP hasn't hit the Enterprise market to the degree that these other languages are used.
Although I haven't taken the courses offered by Zend, I bet theirs are better than any you'll get in continuing education.
