if i go to a skating rink lets say, what could I say to a guy i don't know, but want to talk to? any ideas?

Well, you could comment on his skating abilities. If he's good, you can go up to him and say "Wow, do you skate a lot?" Or, maybe comment on his clothing or something. Maybe he's wearing a band shirt or something? Just make small talk.
