Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal, as it destroys the hair follicle. However, this procedure is tedious and slow, as each hair is removed individually. And since hair grows at different rates, you have to have quite a few sessions before all the hair is removed. It's also painful and expensive.

The results from laser treatments last several months, but only work best on darker hair that the laser detects. It's not recommended for blondes.

Waxing is painful for those with sensitive skin. There is a risk of burns if the wax is too hot. Waxing is supposed to keep you hair- free for six weeks, but I've tried it and it only lasts two weeks.

Depilatory creams dissolve the hair, but despite advertising to the contrary, only last as long as a close shave. They smell bad and can also irritate the skin.

And of course there is shaving, which leaves a stubble and the hair grows back quickly. With shaving, there's the danger of razor burn or cuts.

You have to consider whether it's facial hair or body hair you need to remove, what methods are the least irritating, and how much money you want to part with.

There are some new cosmetic creams you can buy over the counter that supposedly suppress the regrowth of hair that has been removed. Some say they work pretty good, so you might want to give that a try. There's also a prescription cream called "Vaniqua" (sp) that's been advertised on TV, but you need your doctor to prescribe it.

From personal experience, I'd have to say wax. Its fairly inexpensive and keeps the hair away for 3-4 weeks (depending on where you get it done, how much hair, where the hair is, etc.)

Talk to a professional though, for the best answer!

Laser does help I guess. My mum and granny did laser to remove unwanted hair but it did not work for them. Its person to person basis.I hv heard that if you keep on waxing, your hair growth will get slower and as time goes by it will not grow.

Intensive-Pulse Light but it's not a one-time treatment and it's very expensive. The hairs may grow back after aometime tho.
