No fertility drugs I know help you PRODUCE more eggs, what happens is whenever we are born we are born with the amount of eggs we are going to have for the rest of our lives, so no drugs out there will make more eggs! number two Clomid stimulates your ovaries to release an egg, it stimulates ovulation, I know it works because a friend of mine took it and got pregnant, I have not heard of Clomid causing multiple births. The best thing for you to do is do some research on the net, get the facts through books or doctors, some people here just don't know!

Specifically, clomid makes you ovulate. A doctor would tell you to take it if maybe he/she thought your ovaries were not releasing an egg every month. It doesn't mean your body isn't right to have a baby or that there's something wrong with your uterus. A good friend of mine tried for 1 1/2 years to get pregnant, then took clomid and got pregnant in a month, had a very healthy pregnancy, & healthy baby. She got pregnant again a year later without clomid.

i am using clomid. clomid helps your folicles rippen for ovulation. it causes your body to produce eggs. the doctor perscribes it to people that have irregular cycles, people having trouble conceiving, and people that have immature egg/ folicle growth.

i took 50 mg's daily on days 5-9 of my cycle (with the first day of my period being day one of the cycle). last month was my first time using clomid. here's what happened:

day 12 i had an ultrasound. i had 14 eggs developing but none were the right size and ovulation wasn't near.

day 18 i had an ultrasound and all of the eggs had been obsorbed... they were all gone. the doctor said we would just wait for the next cycle.

my period is now due tomorrow. my clomid dose on days 5-9 will now be 100mg per day. i will have another ultrasound done between days 11-13. if i have at least one folicle that is the right size i will be given an injectable drug (pregnyl 10,000 units). the pregnyl will insure ovulation about 24 hours later. pregnyl forces eggs to "spill" out into the tube(s).

the side effects of clomid are cysts and moody, hormonal changes (similar to pms). there is a 12% chance of multiples

the side effect of pregnyl is multiple births... increasing the odds while taking one injection of 10,000 units and clomid to 51%.

pregnyl is a hormone. once i get pregnant i will have to continue to take hormone shots until the 12th week of pregnancy.

Well I was placed on clomid this year to help me produce more eggs. I have had 6 cycles and I am not pregnant yet. I have two other kids, but my body makeup is totally different now(ie weight, diabetes, back issues) I made it to the 150mg for two cycles and I have been tested my ovaries are perfect. I have decided not to use clomid anymore and to allow nature top take its course, I am 37 years old. I willsay taking clomid doesn't mean that "your body is not right" it is their to assist with different problems or issues you may have. I have three friend who used clomid two of them got pregnant with twins and miscarried, the other had a beautiful set of twins, again everyone is different you know. Good luck to all ttc.

It helps regulate ovulation, but if taken too long it can cause multiple births. There have also been cases of women only being on it for 1 cycle and having 4 babies

All it does is help your eggs to ripen and be ready for conception.
