Make Mon thru Thur a bit longer then have Friday off at noon. My company does that and we love it!

Odd flex time, but it is not really a good holiday. Most people are not going to be able to go to sleep at noon on Thursday, so they will end up sleeping most of Friday, which will throw off their sleeping cycle, making it harder to come in on Monday morning. Over all it is not a good idea.

Why not let them leave at noon, allow 30 minutes to 1 hour for the commute, go home and start doing creative work on the PC until 1-2 hours after normal quitting time. If you can get the employees really involved then allow for a break and they can go on working into the evening. Then let them have Friday off and a choice to come in 1 hour earlier, or leave 1 hour later on Monday. That won't disturb their sleeping schedules too much, and for parents that will let them stick to their schedule or at least half of it. Then the Friday they get off isn't really a full off day, but a 6-hour work day off, but it will feel like a full 3-day weekend.

Truly, I would ask your employees. I cannot nap, so this would not be something that would appeal to me. It sounds like you want a brainstorming party really. Why not just make it that. I would have no problem doing this:

Friday: Breakfast and lunch on the house. Be here at 6:00 a.m., grab breakfast and lunch and eat in front of your PC, we all meet at 7:00 p.m., or we meet at "X" and there's a buffet on the house.

(And a side note, this would have to be voluntary, or you violate the wage and hour division labor laws).
