I'm already boycotting Target. They told charities not to solicit outside of their stores. I always tell the charities "Screw Target" when I donate.

Absolutely not. A fair wage is what people are willing to work for. Government interference in private finance is against everything this country's economy is based on. If Target shuts down stores to maintain a profit, then so be it. Would you purposely take a loss to make everyone else happy? No. If it is a fair wage, then everybody else must be paying that wage, so they can work there. Or get an education like people that DESERVE a fair wage based on MERIT, not sympathy.

Target pays its employees not a penny more than the job is worth...just like all other companies. It's called the law of supply and demand. Store clerks are a dime a dozen while CEO's are bit harder to come by. It's tough out there but it's one of the things that make the good, 'ol USA great. I don't suppose you object to having plenty of low-priced clothing, furnishings, etc. to choose from, do you? One thing that makes it possible is low wages. Anyone who feels he's worth more than what Target is paying is free to peddle his talents to other companies.

I would support Target 100% and I hope they leave if this ordinance is passed. $10 an hour is comletely ridiculous for cashiering. I work at Target and I think they probably pay me more than I deserve. Find a better job if $7 an hour isn't enough for you to cashier... Target isn't a charity, it is a business

No, I would buy more from them if they pulled out of Chicago and didn't give any one or you morons a job. You get paid what you are worth OR you can negotiate for. Why does Target owe anyone more money? Just because you can't get a better paying job?
