make up a contract that says that you are responsible for the dog. put in there that if you do not take care of it, that he can give the dog away. tell your dad that you will take the dog for long walks everyday after school. if the dog poops or pees, pick it up and don't say a word because if you do all you'll hear is"I told you so". A pug is a pretty small dog with not alot of hair, so you should be good in that department. All kids need a dog when they're growing up. I always had one, and I have one for my kids too. Good luck in convincing your Dad.

Let me tell you...once that dog sh*ts in the house, your feelings of responsibility are going to end very quickly. I grew up with animals, and though I love them, it's one thing after another. There are health problems, accidents happen in the house (MANY...DID I SAY MANY ENOUGH??), they'll get into your stuff and chew it up, when you leave town you have to figure out what to do with them, etc. etc. I know the thought of having a dog is consuming you right now, but I have to tell you, YOUR DAD IS RIGHT.

Think of this: you think you are mature and responsible enough to take care of a live creature; if your dad has problems breathing around dogs, who should have priority in your life?

make him a bet. bet him that as soon as u slip or slack off you can get rid of the dog right away.

You could just beg also that works eventually

It sounds like your dad may be allergic so you need to think of others besides yourself. Don't be selfish.
