Downloading Depends on the modem you are currently using. If you are using dial up upgrade to a cable modem or a DSL modem. If you want to download real fast and you are on a network, switch from a 10/100 network card to a 10/100/1000 network card. You Will need to switch out the router from a 10/100 to a 10/100/1000 also.
This Will increase your speed a lot. I can't tell you how much because I don't know what kind of modem hookup you have currently.

depends on how you connect to the net thir are download accelarotors butf thay seam not to work if you want to try one of theese you can go to www.gator,com but to truly increase donload speed you need 2 or more devices to connect to the web with ie 2 wifi adpators then network them in network in control panel that will split all downloads into packets devided between the 2 devices
