Satellite is better, because cable doesn't come out here where I live. LOL.

I always thought satellite was risky, until my husband talked me into it last year. Now, it's like going between dial up and cable modems- I would never go back to regular tv again! I looove satellite. You really feel satisfied that you got your $$ worth.
There are many different providers, but we have DirecTV. The features that sold me were that both of us can completely customize what channels we view, our favorites- no more shopping channels or sports channels for me, and he can have sports all he wants! Second, you can have it remind you of a show you wanna watch, once, daily, or weekly! The picture is also much better.
Lastly, I grew up with the TV Guide Channel or the Preview Channel. I realize now how patient I must have been to sit there, sometimes for 15 minutes at a time, just watching that bottom third of the screen roll on up, trying to remember what show I wanted to watch and which ones I thought were coming on... I'd forget by the time all 75 channels had cycled through! There was no customization at all with cable, and who could read that tiny print on that awful scrolling channel?? Now, it's soooo easy to flip flip flip that button, and in 2 minutes flat know exactly what's on MY channels, and what I want to watch next after that, or better still, what about days from now? Try doing that with cable! Satellite is so sweet. ;)
Also, they aren't worse than cable tvs during storms... I find they BOTH go out just as much during bad weather, if at all. Hasn't happened much lately!

I would prefer cable, because with satellite you get all those channels but if you aren't subscribed and you are a channel flipper, you get all those you don't own as well...also, with satellite you have the bad weather.
On another note, if you go with broadband internet cable is more stable and doesn't cut out in bad weather.

Satellite is cheaper but cable signals don't go out in bad weather. Dish gives you more channels, but cable gives you lightning-speed internet. There are postives and negatives to both.

Both offer great channels. I switched to Cablevision because they have a package of TV, Internet and Phone for $99 a month.
