Only you can make it to where your life don't suck. Get involved in something a hobby perhaps or some volunteer work. You would be surprised how many people in nursing homes who have lives that suck. Volunteer there and give them and you something to put a smile on everyones face. There are people out there who need you. Just think how good it will make you feel just making someone else feel good.

Maybe because your probably feeling like your going too have to retire and your going to be boared out of your mind not doing what you have been doing for years. I'm not 55. However I'm36 and I have a friend who is 56 and he say's the same thing. But I will tell you like I tell him.First your only as old as you feel. 2nd travel ,go places you only dreamed about or wish you could go.Live Life To the fullest and smile while doing it. Life is too short to sit back looking at lif as if it doesn't have anything to offer you at 55. Belive it or not I use to belive peolple look forward to getting older and feeling young. you have so much to offer .Your wiser and smarter. I mean close your eyes and go back and see yourself at 19 or 20. What were you doing? And at your age would you do it again. And do you laugh at those years or does it make you feel your life sucks? Because Your Life Is One smile after the other. So life doesn't suck ,It Smiles with you.

I can't say I am only 23, but my mother is around that age. Spend time with your family doing fun things, go out on acouple dates (with your husband if you have one, if not start dating)
Thini back to the time when you weren't saying life sucks! Get a new haircut. Do someting that makes you happy, because in all honesty 55 is still young!!

You say it like sucks is a bad thing.
You get discounts on most things you buy, that's great (not that I'm 55 but my mother is and that's good for me).

The old folks used to say that "Life begins at 40". What they meant was that at about that age, a normal healthy person stops giving a sh!t about what other people think of them and just does whatever they want to do with their life.

well do something about it--go to the spa and shopping or if your a guy go to a favorite sports game-- couples go on a mini vacation to a favorite location. at any age life can be rough but you should reward yourself now and find a reason to later.

Nope, you're wrong......55 starts the "golden years" when
you can retire and travel, winter in Florida, get senior
discounts, have time to relax, play with the grandchildren
go fishing any time, watch daytime tv, sleep as long as you
please, and go to bed whenever you want to.

maybe it does to you, but I know people who are over 55 having the time of their almost-senile lives. Happy "~July-Christmas with batman bringing bags of coal to the good little easter bunnies~" to you!

Life is everything that happens, turn to Jesus, and believe what Jesus said:

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest ( relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. [Jeremiah 6:16.]

30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.
