Sad truth is, consider it not there at all. It is a time clock about to go off and it will halt everything.

Solution is to remove it using add/remove programs. Go and buy it.

Another solution is to remove Office and then go find a college friend or if you are in college make a trip down to the on campus PC store where Office is sold for $20 and is full version....And ready for this.................IT IS A VOLUME COPY
Meaning one could share it with the world....In a serious sarcastic tone: ah but you should not do those kind of things...:Q

Usually brand new pc's come with only trial versions of programs like Office. They'll usually put a lot of what they call "shovelware" on the pc, and also bare-bones programs like Microsoft Works. My advice? Get yourself an older version of office, something like Office 97, which will work fine with XP and goes for little money. Below is a link to one on ebay. (Note, I don't have anything to do with this auction...it's just for an example). Good luck.

Most will come with an MS trial. However they still have a more generic free version. Most colleges offer MS office at a discounted price.
The non-legal, but much more popular method is to borrow it from a friend and install it using thier product key.

it's fully installed, just not fully licensed. Once the 60 days are up, you can either buy the version or delete it. It's a MS version of shareware.
