this will cost you some money because they will not release it until the investigation is over ,,and the storage bill ,,and the tow bill is paid,,and your friend should have to pay all of it,,plus time that you had to do without a car,,it must have been a good friend,,because i don't let any one drive my vehicle,,and i think after this is over with,,you might nor either,,i hope this help,s.

More than likely you'll have to pay for it to be removed from the impound lot. I would get the money from the "friend". Also, check with your insurance company...there's a good chance you may receive a "blemish".
PS...don't loan a car to anyone.

Go to the impound yard, take your title, current registration, proof of insurance and your going to have to pay towing charges and daily impound storage fees. Unless it was confiscated, then they'll eventually sell it at an auction.

You'll have to call the police about that. Odds are if its under
investigation it will be a while. Putting you foot in your friend's
asss may numb the pain some.

This advice comes a little late for you, but never, never, never, let anyone borrow your car. A car can be a lethal weapon and if anything happens, you're responsible. And, YOUR insurance goes up.
