My friend Eddie and his family are from the Philipines, and he told me that his mother had told him pregnant women in the PLilipines do not go out at night bacause "they" need the babys blood. She didn't say who, just "they". She said that when she was pregnant she never went out at night, because of the superstition. Every night while she was pregnant she said she heard clawing and scraping on her roof. Is this true?

Yes, there are a lot of superstitions going on with pregnancy here in the Philippines... Those "they" are blood-sucking monsters that feed on babies and their blood.. It may seem a little absurd but it is true..
