It could be the ps2. I used to take apart ps2s and fix them but the newer ps2s are made so you half to send them in to be fixed because they fall apart purposely when opening.

Here are some questions? Even with no scratches it still might be damaged. Sometimes very tiny circles will form on a disk. These things are impossible to fix and can cause problem.

Sometimes I have heard of people cleaning disks with a window cleaner that puts a firm on the disk a layer kinda like clear glue. This could damage the disk for ever sometimes.

It could be the ps2 does it make any weird sounds? This could mean the disk magnet is damaged or has dust on it. It could also be that the laser is damaged or has dust on it as well.

Try this

Step 1 :Try the game on an other ps2 before cleaning the game. If it does not work it is probably the game.

Step 2: If it does not work clean the disk and try it again. If it does work then it probably is the Ps2. Try other games on your ps2 sometimes ps2's will run some games and not others.

Step3: If it is the disk and it still does not work after cleaning then you will need to get an other copy probably.

If it is the ps2 you can buy a new one or try to use a disk cleaner on the ps2 or take it apart and fix it or adjust the laser. Note that this can be hard.

Good luck.
