The job perspective for a bilingual person is greater than those who only speak one language. Most companies nowadays like to hire potential employees who can speak more than one language to best service the areas where the foreign language speaking people are the majority. Better yet, he or she gets higher salary.

People who speak multiple languages get jobs relating to translation, journalism and foreign relations, just to name a few. The job possibility for bilinguals or multilingual people is endless!

I myself speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese. I was proud being taught these languages growing up, including reading and writing; and they certainly have been helpful and beneficial to my career.

I think in my experience language skills are used to differentiate you from others in a given field. For example, I work in Marketing and because my industry in huge in Latin America, I am able to use my spanish. I think if you want an interesting and high demand job if you don't want language to be your main focus is think about doing jobs where you use other skills that enables you to apply your knowledge of the language and french culture. Each language has a different ways to express emotion and get results.

In our global economy, it really opens the door. Companies are looking for people with the ability to help the highest amount of people possible. This reduces the amount of people they need to hire and also the cost associated. Any field will take advantage of this ability.
