We have a loving completely commited relationship, we are completely intertwined and i would do anything to see her smile and feel her arms around me. We both know that we are ment to be, and the thought that she will never be my wife or the legal mother of our children or recognised as my family if i am ever in hospital breaks my heart. I cant give her everything she deserves in this life, because of the law. Why wont society make gay marriage legal.

Civil Union was recently rejected in Austrlia and the marriage act was respecified to state specifically "only man and woman" so its a good idea, but was shut down by the man.

What is marriage if not a convention, my dear? There are people who have been married for years and had not yet been able to feel the contentment that you are describing. It is not the signature on a paper that will seal your coexistence with your loving partner for ever (even though, I understand, as I Taurean that you are, you probably need that sort of assurance, too...); it is your love which can go beyond the establishment and keep you two bind together forever. Think about it from a different perspective...your relationship will be out of the ordinary... always! What’s wrong with that?

The law in the country regarding this is very stupid, unfair and rigid. There will come a day when this will not be the case, maybe not in my lifetime but it will happen. In the meantime you and your girlfriend should have a commitment ceremony before your family and friends. If you want do the whole "wedding" thing and afterwards have a party. Real love is too special to turn your back on it because some people are small-minded.

Have you ever considered a civil union?

You can't get married because the law specifies that 'marriage' is the union of a man and a woman. If the law specified that 'marriage' was a union of two people then you could.

I personally dont have a problem with it.. to me its two consenting adults wanting to love each other not hurt anyone.. but unfortunately people view the bible as the way to go.. although most dont live up to most of what it says in the bible but obviously they seem to think they have the right to pick and choose whats ok and not ok to do in the bible.. I am a christian, and because its against the bible i dont think it would be appropriate for you to be married in a church.. but as far as just a regular court house type of ceremony i dont see why not.. i really do think they should come up with something to protect the rights of your loved one... I personally feel i have no right to judge you as long as your not hurting anyone you have the right to be happy, if god is against it.. then he'll judge u when that day comes but i have no right to judge u and i dont feel anyone else should either.. my thoughts are if your happy and ur not hurting anyone then why not..

Marriage is between a man and a woman.

You want to change to rules so that they suit you. You can do whatever you want in the privacy of your home, but do not expect me to change long standing rules and traditions so that you can do what you want!!

I'M SORRY THAT YOU BELIEVE BEING GAY IS OKAY. GOD MADE YOU TO LOVE A MAN NOT A WOMAN. YOU ARE AN ABOMINATION TO YOUR CREATOR. YOU CHOOSE TO BE THE WAY YOU ARE, NOT YOUR MIND BODY OR SPIRIT. YOU CAN'T MARRY YOUR GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE IT IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. OPEN YOUR BIBLE SWEETIE, AND ENJOY TRUTH LOVE & EVERLASTING LIFE.

Because some people are ignorant. Love should have no boundries.

As long as you love her in your heart and soul, you are one, need no paper to say that.
