st.john's wort, lemon balm and chamomile tea can help. facial/cranial massage and a chiropractic neck adjustment are both good. i know it's not legal but...a medicinal amount of (one hit) smoking pot will take it away in seconds, (it relaxes constricted blood vessels) more than moderation here will create a worse headache for you, medicinal is the key.
if possible avoid light, place a cool wet cloth over your eyes, drink lots of water, lay down and rest in a quiet, darkened room
avoid alcohol and salty foods they are dehydrating and constricting
sometimes food allergies can cause migraines rather than stress, take note of what you have eaten before your headache occurred.
migraines are miserable and as crazy as it may sound they can be contagious in the sense that just thinking about one can cause one...it shows how much power thought can have on our health...keeping happy, calm and grateful thoughts add to a holistic approach for overcoming migraines
think well...be well
best to you

Work with a neurologist so they can analyze the type of migraines you have and the best treatment. I have had migraines since early childhood. I alternate Execedrin Migraine with Imitrex (pills and shots when needed). I find Head-On works if you catch the migraine early enough. I tried Topamax, but the side effects were more than I could endure.
I also have been listening to a subliminal audio for headaches and my last string of cluster headaches seemed to break earlier than normal.

You should visit with a doctor so they can try to determine the cause and severity of them. There are various options from medication to holistic practices. I used to get bad tension headaches, but no longer get them since I've been going to a chiropractor. Tension headaches are different than migraines, though. You may find that you are getting those and *not* migraines, so that's why it's good to go to a doctor.
In the meantime, an ice pack is very soothing for immediate relief.
Feel better!

I have suffered from migraines for years. I would suggest keeping a log of what you eat and drink. I have found that within 30 minutes of these items I will get a migraine. (red wine, sausage/pork, chocolate).
I have also found stress and menstration to be factors.
You can go to the doctor and get perscription medication (I take Replax) but unless you take the medication in time it won't do much good. Your best best is to avoid the things that trigger the migraine.
