I wanted to improve my jumpshot so I picked two spots on the floor and every day I went out and shot 250 shots from each of those spots. .. religously. To this day those two spots are MONEY for me.

PERSONALLY I think, it comes down to personal goals. You know the thing I find interesting about hoops is that it isn't taught like other sports such as golf. Take the swing for example, any golf pro will show you EXACLTY how to swing the club and GENERALLY, the people committed to playing better assimilate those techniques. In hoops, there are no such disciplines. In hoops, it's like a free-for-all and the guys who end up truly acceling are those who really STUDY the greats (MJ, Shaq , Magic, Isiah, Larry, Hakeem, Kobe, Kareem, etc are *ALL* SUPERB examples of true STUDENTS OF THE GAME) . And is it pure cooincidence that the STUDENTS of the game are the ones who win the championships? I think not.

Study your favorite players. Watch them in slow motion over and over and over until the images are burned into your brain. Then go out and practice until you CAN'T. You'll get to where you want to be. Don't believe the "natural talent' BS. Very few have truly "natural talent." Most of them have practiced and studied and lived the game but they'd never tell you that. They want to make it look like they picked a ball up and started dunking on people. It doesn;t happen that way... generally.

The best way to improve your jupshot is to have confidence in your self. When you shoot just be confident with your shot. That will work. I know because I shot 4/10 one time then a couple of weeks later i was confident and i could knock down 8/10. just keep your confidence.
I f you wanna practice play shoot out. its a 2 on 2 game. 2 people are going head to head at the three point line and the other 2 grab reboundss. the first one to make it will gove it to his team mate and the other 2 will shoot. first one up to 10 wins

If you are white like your avatar...just give up on getting to the NBA and pick a course of study that you enjoy...

Yes white boys can have good jump shots but they cannot jump or run the court with the brothers...only 5 white boys are allowed into the NBA each year now as 'tokens'.

practice, practice, practice and more practice. and then when you're done with that, go out and practice some more.

seriously though, make sure you have the correct form, or else practice is a waste, and then go out and shoot like 200-500 jumpers a day.

if you can, try to make a smaller rim than the standard one and shoot as many as you can everyday from medium range ... that'll make you better for sure ...
