Oh yes.

I can't go out in public with them without some Dutch Courage!!

Dad is LOUD and asks TOO MANY questions, dresses like a nerd and has worn the same pair of glasses since he was 18. (He is now 57!)

Mum is shy and has a nervous giggle... even when something terrible is being discussed. She doesn't wear clothes that suit her round (obese) and squat shape and she makes comments like "oh, I just can't get enough of this cheesecake! I will have to come back for seconds ... and thirds!"

EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!

I thought I'd be less embarrassed by them as I got older, but they just haven't changed.

However, my tolerance for them as individuals who are entitled to act as they wish, has grown.

Good luck.

I'm embarrased just to be seen in public with them most of the time. Especially my dad, he's just plain weird (in a freaky, idiotic way) and acts like it even in public. My mom has a tendency to get bitchy over nothing, and my sister is a crybaby.

They were more embarrassing when I was a young teenager. I'm in my 40's now, and I gotta say, they've really gotten their act together since my early teens. =)

One way my grandmother used to embarrass me is she'd make me drive with her in her big clunky station wagon full of antiques...and we'd drive through our neighborhood where all the guys I had crushes on could see me...so I'd duck down low in the seat.

Just being seen with my parents used to be embarrassing. But, like I said, they got their act together over the last 30 or so years, and they're not embarrassing at all.

Now...don't ask my niece about ME!

No, but they find me embarrasing. I'm the "black sheep" of the family, having been divorced, not making a lot of money, not being "perfect" but I LOVE who I am. Their loss, not mine.

Yes. I find your family embarassing at times. Often, in fact.

YES!!! my dad will go outside on Saturday mornings to mow the law, in these SUPER short shorts, i don't know why...i laugh becauase MY shorts are as short as the ones he wears outside, and on top of it all, he wears this saffari(sp?) hat that gets on my nerves, why can't he just wear a NORMAL baseball hat and wear some longer shorts. he has them, he just doesn't wear them when he mows the lawn..and the neighbors are watching!!!
but i still love my family!!!

Of course, they wouldn't be a good family if they didn't do that from time to time. My dad is Cuban and my mom is American, do I really need to say more.

Yes, when I was younger and still lived with my folks, my parents talked loud in public (we're asian) and they talked loud during my school events. It was embarassing.
